Marchant Endorsed by the NRA
January 25, 2010
Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Kenny Marchant (TX-24) received the endorsement of the National Rifle Association Political Victory fund. This endorsement was based on Congressman Marchant’s solidly pro-gun voting record in Congress and his strong defense of the individual right to bear arms. And based on Congressman Marchant’s pro-gun record and support for Texas gun owners, Congressman Marchant earned an “A” rating from the NRA for the 2010 election.
The NRA specifically recognized Congressman Marchant for the following:
- Voting for legislation to curb bogus lawsuits against gun manufacturers
- Voting to prohibit gun confiscation during states of emergency
- Voting for and cosponsoring the D.C. Personal Protection Act and the Second Amendment Enforcement Act, which helped restore self-defense rights in our nation’s capital
- Signing the pro-gun congressional amicus brief to the Supreme Court supporting the individual right to keep and bear arms in the Heller case
- Signing the pro-gun congressional amicus brief in the McDonald case supporting the fact that the Second Amendment applies to state and local governments
