Carrollton, Texas - Congressman Kenny Marchant announced that he has filed the paperwork for re-election. Marchant has earned the reputation as an effective conservative voice in Congress and a strong advocate for the 24th Congressional District.
“As a former small business owner, Councilmember, Mayor, State Representative, and someone who has grown up in 24th Congressional District of Texas, we share the same concerns about education, healthcare, and the economy. From the time I entered public office, I have never wavered in my core beliefs of economic responsibility, limited government, and transparency. I believe these principles make Texas great and they are the key to job creation and to restoring fiscal sanity to the halls of Washington.”
“I remain focused on continuing to reduce spending, cutting taxes, limiting the size and scope of government, while preserving our individual liberties and freedoms. With your help and support I will continue to fight for you each day and be the conservative voice for the 24th District.”
Marchant currently serves as a senior member on the influential House Committee on Ways and Means. He is a member of the Subcommittee on Health and Subcommittee on Tax Policy. In addition, Marchant is a Speaker-Appointed member of the House Ethics Committee.
The 24th District is comprised of suburbs surrounding the DFW Airport including Carrollton, Farmers Branch, Addison, Coppell, Hurst, Euless, Bedford, Grapevine, Colleyville, Southlake, and portions of North Dallas, Irving, Lewisville, and Plano.
Marchant resides in Coppell with his wife Donna. Together they have raised four children in the 24th District and are proud grandparents of five, soon to be six, grandchildren. A graduate of R.L. Turner in Carrollton, Marchant holds a bachelor’s degree and an honorary doctor from Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma.
