Marchant Votes to Reject Iran Deal

Congressman Kenny Marchant voted in opposition to reject the Iran Deal. Additionally, Marchant supported the passage of legislation which would strip the president of authority to lift sanctions on Iran:

“The administration’s Iran nuclear deal is a disastrous agreement that will have irreversible consequences for the United States, our allies, and the stability of the Middle East,” said Marchant. “Iran is the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism and a sworn adversary of our nation for over 35 years. Granting Iran billions in permanent sanctions relief and easing restrictions on its nuclear program are not going to change its attitudes toward America and Israel. It will only give the Iranian regime greater means to act on its animosity. The House has voted resoundingly against approving this deal and giving the president any authority to lift sanctions. The Senate must do the same.”
